Handcut Magazine Collage & Cardboard on Fabriano Paper 300gr
50cm x 70cm | 2016 €350
By taking the visual experiences and awareness when visiting a new place, this series of collages represents an interpretation of memory 'flashes' - fragmented and seemingly separate moments that create a fusion between harmony and discomfort. Using contemporary imagery from magazines as well as my own photography, the focus is on aspects of architectural detail (shape, colour and form), with no human presence, allowing space for the viewer to 'enter' and interpret their own scenario.
Distant Recollection represents areas of Lisbon, Portugal, and is created from magazine imagery and painted cardboard.
