circle series, 2020

2020, Collage,
35 x 35cm
This series began at home during the lock-down stage of the pandemic. Often seen as a symbol of protection, the circle template was taken from my dining table placemat, referencing intimacy within the domestic sphere. Emotionally accentuated during this time, the home became a central ground for every aspect of one's life, redefining a sense of time, relationship and priority.  Fragmented images from contemporary magazines formed my palette. Visceral detritus from westernised consumer culture is placed in an endless wheel, questioning the furious cycle of consumption.
